Other artists to perform through the week:

CHARLES MUTTER (violin)

DUNCAN STRACHAN (cello)
Image Duncan will be playing Bach's Cello Suite no. 5 at Kinlochmoidart House on Sunday 11th.
Born in 1987, he began learning cello at the age of 5 with Audrey Scott at Lochaber Music School. From 2001 - 05 Duncan studied at Scotland's specialist music school, St. Mary's Music School, in Edinburgh. He has performed all over Britain with his string quartet and piano trio, and as a soloist, and was a finalist in the 2004 St. Mary's Director's Recital Prize. Duncan is now studying Music at Oxford University, where he holds both a Leask Music Scholarship and an Academic Scholarship. He is currently principle cello of Ensemble ISIS (Oxford's contemporary music ensemble) and a member of the Kellas Quartet.

SUSAN DENT (horn)
Since studying at the Royal College of Music, with Julian Baker, Sue has always remained essentially a freelance orchestra and chamber musician but her specialism in early horns has kept her heavily involved with the key period instrument groups. She has had many years as Principal Horn of the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, the English Baroque Soloists and the Orchestre Revolutionnaire et Romantique but more recently, and to lessen the touring load, she has expanded her teaching to include, alongside the Junior and Senior Departments of the Royal College of Music, The Purcell School. She also continues to play (modern valved horn) with The Academy of St Martin in the Fields and the City of London Sinfonia and is a member of the Chamber Ensemble Configure8.

RICK STANDLEY (double bass)
Rick has been working as a jazz bass player and bass guitarist from the age of 17, combining this with a career as a classical double bassist. The classical career happens, generally, during the day and early evening, the jazz during the night. This punishing regime does not prevent Rick from becoming involved with projects such as Mr McFall's Chamber, or with Bag 'o Cats, the folk/jazz/world band. He frequently freelances with the Scottish Chamber Orchestr, aming others, and is principal bass with the orchestra of Scottish Ballet.
